There are many types of pumps in common use, and their vibration signatures vary over a wide range. When monitoring pump vibration, it is important that the operating conditions are uniform from one measurement to the next to assure consistent signatures. Suction pressure, discharge pressure, and especially air induction and cavitation will affect the vibration signature.
